In the Net Lacrosse Rules
High school and middle school lacrosse at ITN follow the US Lacrosse/NFHS rulebook for high school lacrosse, except where specified in the following house rules.

Game Equipment
* Game officials may choose to use bright-colored game balls, such as pink or orange, if available.

Time of Game
* A game consists of two 25-minute running-time halves with a 2-minute half-time.
* Each team may call only one time-out during the game. The clock stops for just one minute, starting the moment the timeout is recognized by officials.

* Penalty times are kept by on-field officials. Penalty time stops and starts with the whistles that start and stop game play.

Start of Game Mechanics
* Officials hold a coin toss between captains, prior to the start of the game, to determine alternate possession and which end each team defends. There is to be no pregame line-up.

Roughness/Personal Fouls
* Officials emphasize safety, penalizing players for delivering body checks or slashes that would be considered borderline in spring lacrosse.
* A player with three personal fouls or two unsportsmanlike conduct penalties is disqualified for the remainder of the game.

Sidelines
* Due to out-of-bounds and sideline areas in the facility being less than the 6-yards suggested in the NFHSA rules, team personnel (such as players and coaches) must stay back from the sideline. Any interference with game play by sideline personnel is penalized as a technical foul.
* Players in the game may not check/force opponents into out-of-bounds structures, such as safety netting and walls. Any such play is penalized as unnecessary roughness.
* Teams/personnel crowding the substitution box area or standing on the field of play will be warned, and subsequently penalized with a technical foul for conduct.

Substitutions
* Substitutions may be made quickly after goals and upon reporting of penalties, or on the fly. There are no "horns" for substitutions.

Roster
* Teams must play only with players registered to their team.  If a team cannot field enough players, they must forfeit the game.
